Pakistan to import gas from Azerbaijan

Pakistani Energy Minister’s deputy for oil Musadig Masood Malik announced that in the next 2 months they will import an additional 20,000 tons of natural gas from Azerbaijan to meet the demand.

ABC.AZ reports that Malik said this in an interview for a local TV channel.

He said that the government is working over gas pipeline project Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), and after completion of the project, Pakistan will import natural gas from Azerbaijan.

Malik stressed that country's natural gas reserves are declining from year to year, and this situation creates pressure to meet demand.

He added that a delegation from Moscow will arrive in Pakistan in January 2023 to discuss the import of crude oil from Russia.
