On June 2, the 30th Anniversary International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition opened at the Baku Expo Center. The event is held as part of Baku Energy Week — the region’s key industry event that annually brings together global energy leaders. This year, Baku Energy Week unites three major events: the 30th Anniversary Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, the 13th Caspian International Energy and Green Energy Exhibition, and the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Forum.

The official opening ceremony of Baku Energy Week began with a welcome address by Tomas Hurd, Board Advisor of “ICA Events” (UK).

The annual participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, once again underscored the high status of the event. In his speech, President Aliyev congratulated the participants of the anniversary exhibition, highlighted its historic and international significance, and wished success to all those involved in the organization and development of the Caspian Oil and Gas project.

Wyatt Toehlke- Senior Advisor for European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, delivered a message on behalf of President Donald Trump to the exhibition participants.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkiye Alparslan Bayraktar read out a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed to the attendees.

Azerbaijan’s global oil strategy is inseparably linked to the historic “Contract of the Century,” which established the image of the country as a newly independent state and positioned Baku as a key center of not only regional but global energy policy. This was emphasized in the speeches of several foreign dignitaries.

Cristina Lobillo Borrero, Director of the Energy Platform Task Force, Directorate- General for Energy, European Commission; Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General of OPEC; and Sophie Westlake, Head of the International Energy Joint Unit of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, extended their congratulations on the anniversary and wished continued success to the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition and the Baku Energy Forum.

According to foreign guests and stakeholders, the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition is a traditional platform where leading oil, gas, and energy professionals meet to sign memorandums, agreements, and contracts on future cooperation.

Following the official ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev toured the Baku Expo Center and familiarized himself with the exhibitors’ stands at Caspian Oil and Gas

Over the years, Baku Energy Week has established itself as a reliable energy platform at both regional and international levels. Since its inception, the Caspian Oil & Gas exhibition has become a key meeting point for leading professionals in the oil, gas, and energy sectors — a venue where memorandums, cooperation agreements, and future partnership deals are regularly signed. Over the past 30 years, Baku Energy Week has made a significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijan’s oil, gas, and energy industries, attracting more than 9,000 companies from 80 countries and welcoming over 170,000 visitors.

This year, Baku Energy Week is hosting 267 companies from 39 countries. Alongside Azerbaijan, participating nations include Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the United States, Uzbekistan, and Guinea-Bissau. Germany is participating with a national pavilion.

As part of the exhibition, stands representing renowned publishing houses, journals, newspapers, news agencies, and online media outlets specializing in the oil and gas industry will be on display.

This year, 35% of the exhibitors are new companies. International interest in Azerbaijan’s oil, gas, and energy sectors continues to grow approximately 70% of the exhibitors are foreign companies, while 30% represent local enterprises. This once again demonstrates not only strong international cooperation, but also the active engagement of the local business community.

Leading industry companies that have traditionally participated in the event occupy 40% of the exhibition space. Many of them continue to support the sector’s development by participating as sponsors, as they have done in previous years.

The 30th Anniversary Caspian International Oil & Gas Exhibition will feature key segments including oil and gas field development, transportation and production of oil and gas, telecommunications and IT, oil and gas processing, construction and installation in the energy sector, innovative technologies, and more. The exhibition will also showcase advancements in artificial intelligence, decarbonization, drilling technologies, as well as innovations related to the production and storage of petroleum and non-petroleum products.

At the 13th Caspian International Power and Green Energy Exhibition “Caspian Power,” international and local companies will present the latest developments and solutions in the field of energy and renewable resources. The exhibition will cover a wide range of sectors including solar, wind, and geothermal energy, thermal power, machinery and energy equipment, electric transport, energy-efficient technologies, and other related products, services, and new projects.

As part of the exhibitions, traditional bilateral business meetings are organized in B2B and B2G formats, where representatives of local and international companies will discuss cooperation opportunities and ways to develop partnership relations. A series of sessions and panel discussions will also take place.
A special startup zone titled “Smart Energy Hub” will be presented during the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Week. This area will showcase startup projects from both local and international innovators, featuring a total of 10 stands. The zone will offer a unique opportunity for startups to present their cutting-edge solutions and strategies to leading energy companies and other stakeholders.

The events held within the framework of Baku Energy Week are supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) acts as the general partner.

Baku Energy Week is organized by Iteca Caspian and their international partners — ICA Events and CEM FZ LLC.
