Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have signed a Protocol of Intent.
The Ministry reports that Deputy Energy Minister Gulmammed Javadov received EBRD President Sum Chakrabarti.
"There is a great need in Azerbaijan for studying European experience in establishing an independent regulator in the energy sector and EBRD’s assistance in this area is very important," the deputy minister said during the meeting.
Suma Chakrabarti, in turn, said that the bank is interested in providing such assistance to Azerbaijan.
By results of the meeting the parties signed the Protocol of Intent "On Cooperation in the Framework of the Strategic Roadmap for Public Services".
