Samir Akhundov has been appointed as Chairman of Management Board at the Agency for Energy Issues Management under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.
The relevant order was signed by Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, the ministry said Jan. 31.
In different years, Akhundov served as the head of Siemens AG branch in Azerbaijan, chairman of the board of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the German-Azerbaijani business association.
Akhundov worked in the energy department of the Simko trade and industry company. He holds doctor's degree in energy.
The Agency for Energy Issues Management under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy was established upon President Ilham Aliyev’s decree, dated Dec. 22, 2017.
