Bulgaria promises to organize Azeri gas sale to Serbia from 2021

Azerbaijan Energy Minister Natig Aliyev has received his Bulgarian counterpart Nicola Pavlov, who arrived in Baku for participation in the 3rd meeting of the Consultative Council on the Southern Gas Corridor Project.

At the meeting Pavlov stated that in 2020 Bulgaria will be ready to receive 1 bn cu m of Azerbaijani gas via the Southern Gas Corridor at the expense of the construction of gas pipeline IGB (Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria) and from the end of 2020 will be able to supply Azerbaijani gas to Serbia via IBS (Interconnector Bulgaria-Serbia).

"Gas from Azerbaijani field Absheron and other fields can go to Serbia," Pavlov believes.

The sides also covered the prospects of Azerbaijan’s participation in the Bulgarian oil products market.
