On June 2, the 31st Baku Energy Forum, held as part of Baku Energy Week, concluded its work at the Baku Congress Center. The forum brought together leading representatives of the energy industry, prominent international experts, representatives of international organizations, government agencies from various countries, investors, and business circles.
The forum was attended by more than 600 delegates from Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, China, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, the USA, Turkey, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Japan, and other countries. Around 60 speakers were featured in the forum's program. Hundreds of delegates discussed the future of sustainable and diversified energy, energy transformation and future strategies, scalable green energy projects, export prospects, as well as a number of other pressing industry issues.
On June 1, a meeting of energy ministers of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization of eighth developing countries (D-8) took place. The first day of the Baku Energy Forum was marked by a ministerial plenary session themed "International Cooperation for a Sustainable and Diversified Energy Future," chaired by Parviz Shahbazov, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As part of the forum, a session titled "Leaders' Dialogue: Leaders on Energy Transition and Future Strategies" was held, with Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), serving as the keynote speaker.
The event program included high-level meetings, project presentations, special sessions, and parallel forums. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) hosted an Investment Forum to discuss project financing in the region. A session on the "Ministerial Dialogue on Advancing the Energy Transition Based on Renewable Energy Sources in Central Asia" and discussions dedicated to capacity building were also held.
The second day featured panel sessions on the following topics: "Leaders' Dialogue: Leaders on Energy Transition and Future Strategies," "Platform for Investment in Energy Efficiency and ESCO: Combining Global ESCO Experience with Large Energy Consumers of Azerbaijan," "Gas Session: Markets, Routes, Geopolitics," "Clean Energy Innovation and Regional Cooperation: Scaling Solutions for a Sustainable Future," "Energy Interconnections: From Green Energy to Regional Integration," "The Future of Energy: Data Centers, Hydrogen, and Small Modular Reactors (SMR)," alongside discussions on various other topics.
In addition, the forum hosted a session by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan on "Platform for Investment in Energy Efficiency and ESCO: Combining Global ESCO Experience with Large Energy Consumers of Azerbaijan," as well as a session by the Economic Cooperation Organization's Clean Energy Center on "Clean Energy Innovation and Regional Cooperation: Scaling Solutions for a Sustainable Future."
Numerous foreign participants of the Forum emphasized its significance, describing it as a high-level platform for strategic dialogue within Baku Energy Week, and noted the growing role of Azerbaijan as a reliable global partner. Thus, the 31st Baku Energy Forum successfully served as one of the region's key centers for constructive and balanced energy discussions.
Bilateral business meetings (B2B and B2G) were held within the framework of the Baku Energy Forum. The Baku Energy Forum was held with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) acted as the main partner of the event. The organizers of Baku Energy Week are Iteca Caspian and its international partners ICA Events and CEM FZ LLC (Caspian Event Management FZ-LLC).
