Whenever I visit Baku for energy-related events—whether as a moderator or a speaker—I am consistently impressed by the high standard of preparation and execution of its energy forums and oil and gas exhibitions. This year is no exception. The quality of organization is clearly reflected in the distinguished lineup of panel participants and guests attending the Baku Energy Forum.
The current gathering is one of the most significant events in the oil and gas sector. Given the emerging global challenges, I believe that issues related to gas transportation, including supplies originating from Azerbaijan, are of considerable importance. There is a broad understanding that natural gas will remain a key pillar of energy security for many years to come. This explains the growing attention being paid to producers of this vital energy resource.
We can see that Azerbaijan is steadily increasing its gas exports to Europe in line with the commitments it undertook toward the European Union in the summer of 2022. These efforts deliver tangible benefits and create value not only for the EU and Azerbaijan, but also for the long-term development and sustainability of the global gas industry.
