Kazakhstan is Azerbaijan’s closest neighbor in the Caspian region, which explains the importance of our participation in Baku Energy Week. We support Azerbaijan’s energy projects. It should be noted that some of Kazakhstan’s export routes pass through Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan is interested in continuing this cooperation. At the same time, studies are ongoing regarding the transit of green energy across the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan and Georgia to Europe.
This year, Kazakhstan plans to transport 1.5 million tons of oil through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline. Over time, this volume may increase to the agreed 2.2 million tons. Overall, it is technically possible to ship up to 7 million tons of oil annually from Aktau toward Baku, but this will require further improvements in logistics.
The participation of Kazakhstan’s delegation in discussions on Caspian energy issues highlights the strengthening of our bilateral and regional agreements with Azerbaijan. Historically, our people have been close, and we continuously reaffirm this through joint projects and initiatives. The current conference undoubtedly contributes to deepening this cooperation.
