On June 4, the Baku Energy Forum wrapped up its program at the Baku Congress Center, marking a major highlight of Baku Energy Week — one of the region’s most influential industry gatherings that brings together global energy leaders each year.

This year’s Forum, celebrating its 30th anniversary, served as a high-level platform for strategic dialogue among international stakeholders in the energy sector. Since its inception, the event has played a key role in strengthening global cooperation, exchanging advanced expertise, and facilitating landmark agreements — all of which have significantly influenced the development of the energy industry not only in Azerbaijan but across the broader region.

The plenary session, titled “Global Cooperation for a Sustainable and Reliable Energy Future,” was chaired by Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Delivering the keynote address in the session “Leaders’ Dialogue: The Path Toward a Sustainable Energy Ecosystem” was Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR.

This year’s Forum featured a broad and timely agenda, addressing some of the most pressing topics shaping the future of energy. These included the digital transformation of the energy sector and the role of data and technology; innovations in geological exploration for sustainable resource development; enhancing field operations through innovation and sustainable practices; the post-COP29 roadmap for global energy sustainability; unlocking the renewable energy potential of the Caspian region; the evolving dynamics of gas markets and the new interplay between producers, transporters, and consumers; and the importance of pipeline infrastructure in strengthening global energy security.

Among the distinguished speakers was renowned global business thinker, Swedish economist, futurist, and bestselling author Kjell A. Nordström, who made his debut appearance in Azerbaijan. Nordström shared his insights on the future of the global economy, the transformation of energy markets, and disruptive innovations reshaping the industry.

As in previous editions, the Forum also hosted a series of B2B and B2G meetings, providing an essential platform for local and international companies to explore new collaboration models and forge long-term partnerships.

The Baku Energy Forum was organized with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic) serving as the event’s general partner. The Forum is also backed by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). In a welcome address to participants of the Baku Energy Forum 2025, OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais emphasized the importance of the Forum as a critical platform for dialogue and cooperation in the global energy space.

Baku Energy Week is organized by Iteca Caspian in collaboration with its international partners ICA Events and CEM FZ LLC.
