In times of global energy disruptions, it is critically important how countries safeguard their stability and what decisions they make. For Georgia, maintaining energy security remains a top priority, and in this regard, Azerbaijan and SOCAR are our strategic partners.

The value of participating in Baku Energy Week is undeniable. The Baku Energy Forum serves as a strategic platform where Azerbaijan and Georgia, as key transit hub countries, coordinate their efforts to strengthen regional energy independence.

The event is professionally organized and provides an effective environment for addressing priority issues. Georgia and Azerbaijan have a long-standing history of cooperation in oil and gas transit. Today, we are also discussing the development of green energy corridors, both across the Black Sea and along the overland route connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Bulgaria.

As part of Baku Energy Week, we will explore opportunities for establishing these important green energy supply routes to Europe. A particularly significant development is that geotechnical surveys of the Black Sea seabed may commence this year as part of the maritime corridor project designed to transmit 4 GW of green energy from the Caspian region to Europe.

In addition, we need to address the extension of several agreements related to oil and gas transit. Therefore, the discussions taking place during the forum carry considerable strategic importance for the region as a whole.
