Distinguished participants,
Dear Representatives of the Public Sector and Business World,
Distinguished Guests,
I welcome you with my most heartfelt feelings and respect.
I wish that all events organised on the occasion of Baku Energy Week, including the Special Session in Shusha, will be fruitful.
As in every sector, our excellent level of cooperation with Dear Azerbaijan in the energy sector is of strategic nature for our countries and our region.
By realising mega infrastructure investments such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines and Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline TANAP, we have made vital contributions to regional and global energy supply security.
In the critical period we are in, the Southern Gas Corridor, which is the backbone of TANAP, is the fourth natural gas artery of Europe.
To date, 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been shipped to Turkey and 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas to other European countries through the Southern Gas Corridor.
As we emphasised in the Shusha Declaration, in which we raised our relations to the level of Allies, together with my brother Ilham, we attach importance to increasing the capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor.
Current developments in the international plan show the accuracy of these steps we have taken.
The vital importance of Turkey-Azerbaijan cooperation for the energy security of Europe is now better understood.
Under the leadership of my brother Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan's vision in the renewable energy sector has become a guidance in terms of regional stability and prosperity.
In this context, declaring Karabakh and East Zangezur as "Green Energy Zone" is a very accurate step.
I wish the continuation of the success of Baku Energy Week, which is organised at a time when the importance of energy and energy security is increasing, and I welcome all participants with my most heartfelt feelings.
Recep Tayyib Erdogan
President of Turkey
